Chario was founded in 1975 and are Italy's most experienced loudspeaker company. Chario loudspeakers are hand made using traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering.
A combination of real wood, and HDF (high density fibreboard) are used throughout their wood collections for aesthetic and technical reasons.
HDF (high density fibreboard) is a composite material chosen for it's isotropic behavior (High Friction Losses).This disperses energy in every direction within its fibers. In the Belong range Chario take this a step further with Corian® a man made stone.
Solid Walnut, sourced from sustainable walnut forests in North-East Italy are jointed in dovetail slats for structural rigidity and are chosen for its orthotropic behaviour (lower losses), which disperses energy on orthogonal planes.
These 2 woods combine to disrupt vibrations induced by its transducers, sparing information which would otherwise be lost if only one wood type were used. They are also aesthetically pleasing and very tactile.

Chario Woofers (bass)
Rohacell®: super light & strong means it is efficient and does not deform. (Cone deformation is a source of inharmonic-distortion)
PolyRing® magnets: small (neodymium) discs in a daisy formation around the voice-coil increases the air gap which cools the voice coil and prevents compression.
Full Apex® Cones: monocoque cone without an Apex hole and dust cap ensures bass transients are preserved.
Chario loudspeakers are designed to work in all rooms. Chario transducers are positioned within precisely angled cabinets with inverted tweeter/mid-range placement and port/bass mountings at the bottom of the cabinet. The bass and mid are thus as far apart as possible >1m, so large bass waves may propogate without disrupting vulnerable mid-detail.
Furthermore they don't require rear-wall re-inforcement because they use the floor, a more predictable measurement. The distance between the floor and bass are always known regardless of room type. These precisely measured transducer mountings have a unique relationship with your ears because sounds arrive their first (before room reverbaration). You receive a very dynamic 3D soundscape with it's vast tonal-colour palette in tact.
